In over a decade, Pine Acres guests, seasonal campers, and employees have raised and donated over $110,000 to various local charities. Each year, the team picks a charity that is near and dear to someone’s heart. In the past, we have partnered with such great organizations as:
- The Karen Wellington Foundation– Our mission is simple. We put FUN on the calendars of women and families LIVING with breast cancer by sending them on special vacations, relaxing spa days, concerts and other FUN-ONLY activities.
- Veterans Inc– Our Mission: To be there for our veterans and their families in their time of need with the ultimate goal to end homelessness among veterans. To help our veterans regain self-sufficiency through the provision of holistic supportive services, including housing, employment and training, case management, food security, health and wellness, family support programs, women, and child care services.
- Compassionate Cares ALS– Our Mission: To support people diagnosed with ALS, their families, healthcare providers, and communities as they navigate the complexities, both physical and emotional, associated with the disease. The organization provides resources including equipment, educational opportunities, insurance and Medicare assistance, guidance and awareness with regards to living with ALS, caregiving, and exploring end-of-life when invited. CCALS offers an innovative approach to delivering support and services to our clients, which we tailor to the needs of each individual and their support network.
- Additionally, over the last several years, our major fundraisers have included the Jimmy Fund, the Why Me & Sherry’s House, Red Cross, Camp Sunshine, Dana Farber, and Pawsitively 4 Pink.
- And more! The complete list is long and includes many small local organizations including fire and police associations, Boy Scout groups, the Oakham Historical Society, the Oakham library, etc.
In keeping with our goal of supporting organizations meaningful to all those around us, this year we are excited to partner with:
- Project New Hope (https://projectnewhopema.org/) – Project New Hope is a Massachusetts based non-profit organization with locations in Worcester and Westfield.
Their vision empowers Service Members, Veterans, and their families through free retreats, supportive programs, wellness, and education in a confidential and safe environment.
They are an organization that helps US Veterans and their spouse or partner and children with addressing the challenges, fears, and stigma that they face during and after Military service.
Project New Hope was founded in 2010 and established in January 2011 by a disabled Air Force Veteran, William H. (Bill) Moore M.A. Our vision is one of hope for every Service Member, Veteran, as well as their spouse and or significant other who has felt the impact of military service. Our network of support allows us the ability to identify and align the appropriate support by wrapping services and resources around the entire family. We welcome Service Members and Veterans of all eras from across the United States.
We partner with organizations that provide support to families of Massachusetts Service Members fallen in service.
Where Veterans Rebuild with Honor
We look forward to another successful fundraising year, thanks to all of you!
